The Audi company was founded in 1910 by August Horch. Audi is mostly owned by Volkswagen A.G. Audi has been owned by the group from 1964. Audi has dominated the sports car scene ever since it’s first entrance under the Auto-Union name and has recently had numerous successes at the Le Mans 24 Hour race. Audi also have claimed the first win for a diesel at Le Mans with their R10 TDI. Audi revolutionised the Quattro era with their Audi Quattro. The first 4WD car in production. This helped them annihilate the World Rally Championship opposition with their 4WD cars. Since then most Audi’s have been 4 Wheel Drive.
